May Update

Layla is 16 lbs, Ruby's 15 1/2 and both are 25 inches long. In the weight department the girls are just about in the 50 percentile and they're in the upper range for height and head size. Both girls have two teeth on their lower gums and they're both eating like champs. I buy large quantities of veggies or fruits at costco and I prepare them by steaming and pureeing in a cuisinart. I then pour the puree into a cupcake pan and then freeze it. Once frozen I throw all the food into gallon ziplock bags in the freezer. So far I'm feeding the girls oatmeal, pears, carrots, peas, and rice. Once the peas are all gone I'm going to make some sweet potatoes. Neither girl is crawling but they're practicing other types of movement. Layla is scooting backwards and recently she began looking back while scooting, so instead of scooting in a straight line and getting caught under various furniture she's scooting towards things she's curious about, or circling her sister. Ruby is only scooting to the left or right in a circle. Both are rolling front to back and back to front and Layla has begun sleeping on her side. Layla tends to scream a lot when she needs something... whether its hunger, dirty diapers, or boredom. Ruby tends to be less vocal when she's experiencing discomfort but she has her ways. Lately they really love it when I sing "loving you is easy cuz you're beautiful..." It even helps get their attention at times when I'm trying to change their diapers.
A couple weeks ago when the sun finally made an appearance I began taking the girls for daily walks in our neighborhood and they really seem to love it. They sit very quietly taking it all in. My body feels so much better since I started the routine and I'm fitting into more and more of my pre pregnancy clothes.
Larry has been working just about every day since he was laid off but the new situation isn't working out very well. We're praying that a different situation will make itself available.

Yup, Carmen from the nose down, Larry from the nose up.

Isn't it fun to dress girls for summer? :)
